Tourism innovations

This course consists of four modules with textual content, videos, and a short quiz or final knowledge test consisting of a series of multiple choice or true and false questions. Weighting the test scores will give a percentage or final grade for each participant.

This course will let you know:

  • The general guidelines of the tourism sector and its legal framework, taking into account that the laws of each country are different; but with the conviction that the general concepts apply in Latin America.
  • Understand each link in the tourism value chain and the importance of not only incorporating new ideas, products, services and practices into our sector, but also with full conviction in the new use of natural resources that belong to new generations.

Program structure:

Module 1- Conceptual framework of tourism
This module gathers the essence of tourism today from the perspective of tourism as a global, integral and articulating phenomenon that is a reality.

Module 2 – Legal and institutional framework for tourism
In this module, you will learn that the legal framework governing the tourism sector is essential for the successful implementation of this activity in both public and private management.

Module 3 – The value chain
This module provides a learning experience to understand how companies work to add value to a product or service and create a competitive advantage. In addition, you will learn how the value chain becomes a fundamental strategy for the development or consolidation of a tourism destination.

Module 4 – Business capacity building and innovation
Developing creativity and innovation is an integral element of the par excellence of modern companies. In fact, it is said that innovation is the engine of competitiveness. However, innovation alone is not progress for an organization or society. It is innovating to achieve the goals outlined in the company’s strategy and with clear expectations to improve or develop a successful business unit.
